Symptoms of Vacation Spending Disorder

This is a little-known “illness/disorder” that I seriously doubt has made it’s way into the official DSM, yet it affects countless vacationers every year.

It’s probably first noticed in your hotel room as you try to fit all your belongings back into your suitcase, only to discover that your suitcase must have “shrunk” during your trip. Even sitting on the suitcase may not be an adequate remedy.

You might notice it again at the airport as the baggage agent insists on charging you extra for your overweight bags.

And finally, you’re likely to notice it when you get home and can’t figure out exactly why you bought (or took) all those “C.U.T.E” little items. (C.U.T.E. meaning “can’t use this ever”).

Cure for Vacation Spending Disorder

The basic cure is to think before you buy. Ask yourself these questions:

Do you have someone specific in mind for this item? Is it something you can’t get – or don’t already have at home? Will it serve some
actual purpose? And, perhaps the most important question of all: can you really afford it?

Bring home only the important, necessary and useful items. Some things that you will definitely want to keep are: receipts for purchased items and for anything you plan on expensing or deducting at tax time, your physical boarding pass if you need to make a claim for mileage credit (many airlines require the physical document) and photos – they make great souvenirs of your trip and they don’t take up much space in your bag, nor are you likely to get hit with an overweight baggage charge due to the photos you took.

Other amenities might include comfortable transportation to and from the excursion site, a full-course meal, and even laundered clothes at the end of the day’s adventures.

What Can I Do on a “Glamping” Trip?

You can do all the traditional adventure things like hiking, river rafting and jungle safaris -you just do it a great deal more comfortably!

With the current trend for “staycations,” glamping is likely to increase in popularity. In fact, statistics support this trend. Outdoor equipment store, REI, notes sales of family tents are up by 15%, and campground reservations, and fishing licenses have all increased year-over-year.

Just Like a Magician – Distraction is the Secret

Manage Your Adrenaline

Don’t Bet the Farm

The odds are much better at 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 instead of 40 to 1. Using this method I have managed to turn $20 into $900 in just over 3 hrs. It may not sound like a fortune, but as I said before walking in poor and walking out a millionaire is not realistic.

Keep Track of Time

Next time you are at a casino look for a clock or window. Ok do not waste your time, there are none. Another secret of the casinos is that they want you to have no concept of time.

When you are gambling time seems to go faster, and if there were clocks or a window in the casino you would have some idea of how long you have been gambling and would then start to think about leaving the casino instead if losing all track of time and spending all day and night in the casino.

Judgment Suffers When You’re Tired

They do this because at some point you will start to get tired but be kept awake from the adrenalin from gambling, and at this point you can’t think straight, and you will start to spend money faster.

Always remember the casinos are not there to make you dreams come true they are there to take you for all your money. Any time you leave the casino with some of the casino’s money it was accidental.

The worse the odds of you winning the nicer the colors of that area will be.

Don’t Get “Suckered”

By keeping this information in mind you will not be going home from the casinos and quitting your job but you will have more money in your pocket and you will have had a good time making that money.

Commercial & Recreational Deep Sea Fishing

Deep sea fishing encompasses both commercial fishing which is the heart of the seafood industry; and recreational fishing, where anglers engage in fishing for sport.

Deep Sea Fishing Techniques

The main techniques used for deep sea fishing include trolling, bottom sea fishing, seining and long lining.

1. Trolling

To elaborate further, trolling requires fishermen to keep the boat at a constant speed (a velocity of six knots is generally considered optimum) while the fishing lure is drawn on a line just beneath the surface of the water.

2. Bottom Sea Fishing

4. Long Lining

Long lining as its name implies, consists of a long line attached at systematic intervals with baited hooks with the aid of branch lines, commonly referred to as “snoods”.

I love magic and have been a long-time fan of many Western magicians, but I have to admit, this is a trick I’ve never seen anyone perform.
